Diwali celebration with Nursery and Reception

Diwali celebration with Nursery and Reception

Today is Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights. It’s celebrated all over the world by Hindus, often by lighting candles, decorating homes and setting off fireworks. Diwali represents the spiritual “victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance.”

Above you can see the children preparing chapattis.

The also danced an Indian stick dance, made rangoli patterns and made clay diyas. Clay diyas, or divaas as they are also known, are used during Diwali to hold special celebration candles.

Then we all sat down to enjoy the delicious chapattis the children had made. It was a lovely celebration of Diwali!
