English

At Co-op Academy Oakwood, we are passionate about our English curriculum being a vehicle for children’s empowerment by ensuring that we promote a high standard of language and literacy through both our English curriculum and through our wider curriculum areas.

Maths

At Co-op Academy Oakwood, we want our children to leave school with a love of maths. We aim for them to have a toolkit bursting with life skills that will equip them to be resilient and successful in their future.

Science

At Co-op Academy Oakwood, we intend our Science curriculum to be a vehicle for broadening the children’s experiences through their learning.

PSHE

Our PSHE curriculum is designed to provide our children with the knowledge and skills to support their personal development with relationships, physical and mental well-being and changes as they progress through school.

Geography

At Co-op Academy Oakwood, our geography curriculum is designed to develop children’s curiosity and fascination about the world around them and its people, something that will remain with them for the rest of their lives.

At Co-op Academy Oakwood, we are passionate about our History curriculum being a vehicle for children’s empowerment through enhanced opportunities in an area of Leeds that has always suffered from high levels of multiple deprivation.

RE

At Co-op Academy Oakwood we are passionate about our RE curriculum being a vehicle for children’s empowerment through enhanced opportunities. We have developed a curriculum to deliver insight, creativity and experience (ICE) so that significant gaps in cultural capital can be overcome.

Art

At Co-op Academy Oakwood we want children to be passionate about our Art curriculum and understand the value of it.

Design & Technology

At Co-op Academy Oakwood we are passionate about our D&T curriculum. We follow the National Curriculum and have developed our own broad curriculum to deliver insight, creativity and experience (ICE) so that significant gaps in cultural capital can be overcome.

Computing

At Co-op Academy Oakwood, we are passionate about our computing curriculum. We have developed a curriculum to deliver insight, creativity and experience (ICE) to provide all our children with a broad, exciting and ambitious curriculum that will develop their knowledge and cultural capital so that they are able to succeed in life.

PE

Our intention is to deliver an exciting and relevant curriculum that covers sports such as: tennis, football, rugby, athletics, gymnastics and dance across all year groups. Regular circuit training is built into the curriculum to support children’s general level of fitness and regular assessments take place.
