Executive Headteachers Welcome

Hello, a very warm welcome to Co-op Academy Oakwood’s website.

I’m Miss Aasim, and I am the Executive Headteacher.

My journey at the academy started in January 2019. After leading another school as Headteacher I decided to start a new chapter here. I chose the academy and the Trust because the Ways of Being Co-op and the values aligned with my own.

Our school motto is, ‘Be the best you can be.’ We want our staff and children to be the very best versions of themselves, and we encourage high expectations. From the moment your journey with us begins, you will see that we believe in fostering a Growth Mindset. Where we embrace challenges and use them to learn new things.

Co-op Academy Oakwood is a vibrant academy where children are enthusiastic and motivated to learn. Children are at the heart of every decision we make to ensure that the opportunities we provide are memorable and relevant to our pupils both now and in the future.

We want children to be happy, confident, and curious about their learning.  Their wellbeing and happiness are very important to us. Through our engaging curriculum, we ensure that children can foster a passion for learning that will help them develop high aspirations and a lifetime of memories. We make sure individual talents can be spotted and developed to ensure that all children experience success and reach their full potential.

The Academy has a dedicated team that works hard to reach high standards in everything we do, and this is further embedded through our successful relationships with families, the local community, and the other Academies in the Co-op Academies Trust. We firmly believe that education is a partnership between home and academy, regard you as an active partner in your child’s education, and value your interest and support.

I am very proud to share our wonderful opportunities and developments with you. This website aims to give you a taste of the academy as well as provide regular, updated information for families and children.
