Tropical world and Roundhay Park 

Year 3 enjoyed a trip to Tropical World and Roundhay park. They met a range of creatures including meerkats. As part of the day the children learnt about the animals. Pupils also got the opportunity to explore parts of Roundhay Park. They have even created a recount of their trip.

Classroom kitchen - Greek salad 

Classroom Kitchen helps primary schools to turn their Classrooms into the Kitchen with outstanding cooking and nutrition lessons. We were incredibly lucky to have them join us in Year 2 to make Greek Salad. The children prepared all of the vegetables, learnt about nutrition and even got to taste what they had made. Apparently it was ‘YUMMY!’

Toad-ally amazing visitor

A mysterious visitor joined Mrs Porter on journey through school this week. With a bucket for a home, a toad was welcomed into the academy to visit the different classes. All of the children were fascinated by the markings which helps to camouflage the toad from predators.  Alongside the toad, a jar of frogspawn was brought in so the children could learn about animal life cycles. There were some very interesting guesses as to what was in the jar before the grand reveal.
