Spring week 2 newsletter.

Let's get reading, Jump to it and Wonderful Wagamama

Let’s get reading

More and more pupils in the academy are achieving their 100 reads. If pupils read at home 100 times they earn a golden token which they can spend in the Book Vending Machine.

A said ‘I felt excited that I earned the token. I have already started reading the book about a dog who celebrates Christmas.’

Reading at home with your child is very important and this should be completed each night and recorded in their planner / reading record.

Who will be next?

Jump to it!

Pupils in Year 2 are learning different types of jumps in PE. As you can see from the pictures they are both high action and high in the air. R said ‘Look how high I can jump. I can do a tuck jump!’

Keeping fit, healthy and active is important for all of our pupils so please send them in their PE kits when it is their PE day(s). This can be found on the year group newsletter and by speaking with your child’s class teacher.

Wonderful Wagamama

Pupils in Class 8 visited Wagamama on Tuesday to prepare and make food which they enjoyed for their lunch. This trip linked to their learning before Christmas where they learnt how to prepare and cook healthy meals. They developed their skills at using different kitchen tools to prepare vegetables. R said ‘This was the best trip ever. We made noodles and drank fresh pineapple and lime juice.’ Some children even tried fresh ginger juice. N said ‘It wasn’t too spicy.’
