Happy New Year and Welcome back!

All the staff at Co-op Academy Oakwood hope that you and your family have had a restful and enjoyable break over the Christmas period. As we begin our new term, I want to extend a warm welcome back to all our children and families. The children have come back to school ready to learn and we are excited for all of the events we have planned. This has been shared with you via the ‘Key Events’ letter this week. Each and every day is important so coming to school every day is important. 

Keeping safe 

At Co-op Academy Oakwood we want all of our children, families and staff to be and feel safe. We have a team of ‘Designated Safeguarding Leads’.  Mrs Duffy is our DSL - she leads the safeguarding team. Children and families can talk to her about how to stay safe. Karen and Jane are DDSLs - they offer family support and make sure children are in school each day.  Miss Aasim and Mrs Walsh are DDSLs - they ensure that statutory duties are fulfilled.  Miss Spivey is a DDSL and SENDco. She also supports online safety.  You can talk to any of these staff if you have a worry or concern.

Box 2 Be fit

We started the new year off to a fantastic start Co-op Academy Oakwood with Box 2 be fit. The children learned new skills and had a fun and fitness challenging session with Dave.
