Autumn 2 week 2 Newsletter

Autumn 2 week 2 Newsletter - Learning at Oakwood and Gardening

Learning at Oakwood

In science this week, Y2 have been learning about hygiene. We really enjoyed simulating spreading germs and then cleaning them off - don’t worry we were using herbs on our hands not germs! ‘Water' is one of our academy's top Sustainability Goals this year. This afternoon, Jay Class  gained more insight into 'Water' by exploring the Water Cycle in detail. Some of the children would have been inspired to consider becoming Hydrologists when they are older; a career where they can help develop sustainable ways of managing water. Goldfinch Class have been exploring how cars move. They have learnt about axles and wheels and been finding them on different vehicles. Peregrine Class used counters on place value charts to help their subtraction exchanges today.
