Autumn 1 week 1 Newsletter
Autumn 1 week 1 Newsletter - Welcome back, Every Moment Matters and Keeping safe.
Welcome back!
Tuesday was such a lovely day having the children back in school. Each member of staff was so happy to see the children happy, smiling and ready to learn. All of the children have shown great enthusiasm and really do want to fulfil the school motto ‘Be the Best You Can Be’. Welcome meetings will be after school on Wednesday 11th September. Come and see your child’s classroom and class teachers. If you have any questions please speak with your child’s class teacher.
Every moment matters
Being in school every day is essential for children. It helps them learn, grow and make friends. We have lots of exciting prizes to be won if your child comes into school every day. Let’s do this together!
Keeping safe
At Co-op Academy Oakwood we want all of our children, families and staff to be and feel safe.We have a team of ‘Designated Safeguarding Leads’.
Mrs Duffy is our DSL - she leads the safeguarding team. Children and families can talk to her about how to stay safe. Karen and Jane are DDSLs - they offer family support and make sure children are in school each day. Miss Aasim and Mrs Walsh are DDSLs - they ensure that statutory duties are fulfilled. Miss Spivey is a DDSL and SENDco. She also supports online safety. You can talk to any of these staff if you have a worry or concern.
