Summer 1 Week 6 Newsletter

Summer 1 Week 6 Newsletter - Flying High and Northern Ballet - star in the making

Attendance

Miss Aasim was very excited on Thursday to hand out the first attendance prizes. In assembly, she handed out hundreds of certificates to pupils who had an attendance over 98%. They even got a prize. All of these children and their families worked hard to come to school each and every day. All of these children were entered into a draw to win a tablet. Our winners were:

A from Class 1

B from Class 4

G from Class 13

Next half-term, a Gaming bus has been arranged for all pupils who get 98% or above. Who will get a turn on the gaming bus?

Flying high

At Co-op Academy Oakwood we live by our motto: ‘Be the Best You Can Be’. Because of this, we have really focussed on our learning. Year 2 have been learning about the life cycle of butterflies. At the start of term, the children were joined by caterpillars which then became chrysalis and finally emerged as butterflies. So that these beautiful creatures could stretch their wings, Year 2 released them.

Year 5 were flying high when they built and flew kites linked to our wellbeing week last week. The children loved trying to make them fly high up in the sky.

Northern Ballet - star in the making
