Autumn 1 week 7 Newsletter - Learning at Oakwood and Options after Oakwood
Learning at Oakwood
Year 1 have been enjoying their art lessons this half term. They have also been making potions that make you shrink, vanish and change colour. The children wrote out the recipes for their potions so be careful if you are offered a drink!
In Year 4, pupils have made river models to complete their learning in Geography. Pupils worked well as teams to ensure the models were accurate.
Pupils across the academy had the joy of Ian’s mobile farm. A range of animals including chickens, alpacas and goats came for a lovely day in school.
Options after Oakwood
On Thursday afternoon and after school, we were incredibly lucky to be joined by Co-op Academy Leeds, Bishop Young Academy, Trinity Academy Leeds, Wetherby High, Leeds Sixth Form College and Employment and Skills Leeds who spoke to children and their families about options after Oakwood. Children were able to ask lots of questions, take away prospectuses as well as try on ties. Some children even got to meet the teachers of their older siblings! Thank you to Mrs Brackenbury for organising the event.
