Learning at Oakwood
Year 1 have been introduced to 'whole' and 'parts' this week in their Maths lessons. Year 5 had a visit from Rebecca from Leeds City Council this week. They enjoyed learning about how to keep themselves healthy and about antibiotics. They were amazed to learn how soap kept our fingers clean! This week, with Northern Ballet, Year 5 have been learning the story of Peter Pan. They have been exploring the theme of friendship through their movements.
Year 4 visit to the Sikh temple
As part of their RE learning, Year 4 visited the Gurdwara (The Sikh Temple). As well as consolidating a lot of key knowledge about the religion, all the children (and adults) very much enjoyed the time to share food together in the Langar.
Year 6 visit to Roundhay
As part of their Geography learning, Year 6 visited Roundhay. The children completed their field study however they were all tired from the long walk!
Harvest Festival!
On Monday we celebrated our Harvest Festival together. The children sang harvest songs together. Thank you to all our families for the kind donations of food items which were shared with Gipton Action for the Elderly who were truly amazed by the generosity.
