Summer 2 Week 6 Newsletter - Careers week for Year 5, Attendance and Year 1 trip to Filey

Careers Week for Year 5

Year 5 have had a busy week dedicated to the World of Work. They have listened to several visitors talk about the jobs they do, interviewed adults and visited Lidl and the Old Fire station. The children also designed a new chocolate products which were judged by some real life Dragon Den-Style judges!

During the week, the children have taken part in a range of activities which has introduced them to many different careers. This has been a  fantastic opportunity for the children. All of our visitors have been really impressed.

Attendance

Every day counts. We have lots of exciting events happening in school so coming each day is really important. At Co-op Academy Oakwood we make sure every moment matters!

This half-term a gaming bus has been hired for pupils with impressive attendance. We are so proud of the 108 pupils that have earned a visit to the bus. Well done children!

Missing a day means that your child misses key learning as well as missing out on fun experiences. If you need support please speak to Karen or Jane.

Year 1 trip to Filey

Year 1 spent a wet yet wonderful day in Filey. The rain only stopped when they got back on the coach but lots of fun was still had. They played on the beach and dipped their toes in the freezing sea!
